Jammu and Kashmir govt launches cycle scheme for poor students

The government of Jammu and Kashmir launched ATB – All Terrain Bike program for merit students from economically weaker classes. Before starting this program the J&K government already launched Scooty scheme for girls. Chief Minister Mehabooba Mufti declared the inauguration of this ATB – All Terrain Bike scheme for the clever students on the pattern of girl students Scooty Scheme. The CM of J&K offered 150 scooties to Women’s Degree College’s girl students in Baramulla.

The State Government of Jammu and Kashmir will provide High end bicycles under ATB scheme to meritorious boys students of X class of government schools. The cycle will be offered to the student on the basis of 90:10 percentage. Government will pay 90 percent of money and student has to pay only 10 percent of money.

One of the State Government Official concerned with this ATB scheme informed that any student who is studying X class and related to lower economic background and living more than 2 km to the school and must obtain 65% of marks in the academics are suitable for this scheme. Student has to give his statement in writing that he will continue his education.
