RBI Released new 500 and 2,000 rupees currency notes

RBI released new 500 and 2,000 rupees notes with advanced features and in new sizes. These notes contains advanced features and new sizes. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that 1000 and 500 Rs notes which are in use now will no longer work from 9th October 2016.

In India RBI- Reserve Bank of India introduced 2,000 Rs value currency notes for the first time. This series will be called as the ‘Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series’. Magenta is the base color of the note and 66mm*166mm is the size. 2,000 Rs note contains the theme (decorative image) of Mangalyaan (ISRO mission to the mars). The opposite side consists the image of Mahathma Gandhi.

It is different in color, design, motif,size and location of security features compared to old 500 rupees notes. These notes have an image and electrotype watermarks. 500 currency notes are designed in grey color. It contains the Red Fort as motif. The reverse side has Mahatma Gandhi image. Currency notes size is 63mm*150mm.
