Yudhvir Singh Malik is the new Chairman of NHAI

Union Government selected Yudhvir Singh Malik as Chairman of NHAI (National Highways Authority of India). He replaced Raghav Chandra who has ben appointed as National Commission for Scheduled Tribes’s secretory. Yudhvir Singh is 1983 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre. Before appointed for this post he was in the office of NITI Aayog as special secretary. Before joining NITI Aayg, he was Chief executive officer of FSSAI from Oct 2014 to Sept 2015. Yudhvir Singh’s tenure marked with Maggi noodle ban issue which had brought food regulator into limelight.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI):

» National Highways Authority of India is Union Government’s autonomous agency, answerable for administration of a network of over 70,000 km of national highways in India.


» NHAI was founded through National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988.

» In February 1995, it was formally made an autonomous body In February 1995.

» NHAI is a nodal agency of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

» NHAI deals with management. development, operation and maintenance of all Indian National Highways.
