⇒ Lal Krishna Advani, the BJP Leader conferred Bharat Ratna, India’s biggest civilian award. Lal Krishna Advani was served as first home minister and later served as Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet of Atal Biharee Vajpayee from 1999 to 2024.

⇒ Renowned Indian musicians Shankar Mahadev and Zakir Hussain’s fusion band Shakti got Grammy award for Best Global Music Album’. They got the award for their album “This Moment”.

6th February 2024, Current Affairs:

⇒ Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill 2024 cleared by Loksabha.

⇒ Govt of Uttarakhand introduced legislation on the UCC (Uniform Civil Code) in the Assembly.

7th February 2024, Current Affairs:

⇒ Uttarakhand is the first state to pass the UCC (Uniform Civil Code) bill. UCC means a common set of laws which are applicable to all citizens of India. These laws will not depend on religion in dealing with personal matters like marriage, inheritance, divorce and adoption.

⇒ Rajya Sabha has passed the Water amendment bill 2024(Prevention and Control of Pollution). The bill seeks to amend the water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.

9th February 2024, Current Affairs:

⇒ Union Government respected former PM Charan Singh and PV Narsasimharao and MS Swaminathan the agricultural scientist with Bharat Ratna posthumously. MS Swaminathan played very important role in Green Revolution. The government has declared Bharat Ratna for Lal Krishna Advani the veteran Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) politician and Karpoori Takur the former Bihar CM.

⇒ Loksabha has passed Finance bill, 2024 through voice vote.

⇒ RBI keeps repo rate without changing at 6.5 %  for the 6^th time.
