  • For 18 Rajya Sabha seats the elections will be held on 19th June 2020 according to Election Commission. Andhra Pradesh 4 seats, Gujarat 4 seats, Madhya Pradesh 3 seats, Rajasthan 3 seats, Jharkhand two seats, Meghalaya 1 seat and Manipur 1 seat.
  • The first phase of unlock starts nationwide today. India is in 7th place now in covid 19 cases rank globally.
  • Two astronauts of NASA docked with the International Space Station last night successfully with SpaceX’s Dragon Spacecraft. This spacecraft was launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
  • 1st June is World Milk Day. Milk day was celebrated worldwide.

  • The Indian Government has permitted Gilead Science Inc’s antiviral drug remedesivir for emergency use in treating corona virus patients.
  • Minister for Road Transport and Highway and MSMEs Gadkari declares development of new Greenfield expressway to Amritsar.

  • Union Cabinet today passed an important amendment to Essential Commodities Act. Commodities like pulses, cereals, edible oils, oil seeds, onion and potatoes have been removed from list of essential commodities.
  • Raveesh Kumar, the senior diplomat is appointed as the new Ambassador to Finland. He was 1995 batch IFS officer. Before this selection he was the spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs.
  • Nisarga (strong cyclone storm) hit north Maharashtra State Coast. Nisarga cyclone landfall at Deceaagar in Alibagh at 1.15pm today.

  • 8th June is World Ocean Day. UN General Assembly declared to identify 8th June as World Oceans Day in the year 2008.
  • Hotels, restaurants, shopping malls and religious places and offices were closed regarding Lockdown. All these places have reopened in some states from today with some precautions.
  • Baby Rani Mourya, Uttarakhand Governor announced Gairsain as new summer capital of the State. The city Gairsain is also known as Bhararisen.

  1. Nethra who is a 13 year old Girl has been selected as “Goodwill Ambassador (GWA) for the poor ” by the United Nations Associations for Devepopment and Pease (UNADAP). She also got the agency’s DIXON Scholarship. She scholarship value is 1 lakh.
  • Biggest Biodiversity park of Uttarakhand.

The Largest Biodiversity park of U’Khand was started in Haldwani on             the occasion of world environmental day on 5th June. The name of the           park is Uttarakhand Forest Research wing Bodiversity park. The area             of the park is 18 acres.

  • Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh started a plant health clinic at the Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Imphal on  8th June 2020.

10th June 2020 Current Affairs:

  • Titan, the moon of Saturn is drifting away faster than before. NASA’s researchers and Italian Space Agency scientists identified these details. Depending on the data received from the Cassini Spacecraft of NASA, the scientists expecting that the distance between Saturn and its moon is increasing. This distance is about 4 inches every year. According to the studies the drifting rate is increased 100 times faster than before.
  • The Govt of India prolonged Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharath) to help migrant Workers. Government had declared the beneficiaries of Ayushman Barath will be offered free COVID-19 testing.
  • International Cricket Council, has agreed substitution if any cricketor have covid 19 symptoms at the time of test match. ICC also banned using saliva to shine the ball.

11th June 2020 Current Affairs:

  • Depending on the report of National Institutional Ranking Framework – NIRF released today the IIT Madras is the best one in higher education field. The Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru got the second place and Delhi IIT got 3rd place in the rankings.
  • In Gujarat, the Asiatic Lions population increased by 28.87 percent. The latest Poonam Avalokan tells that the number of lions has raised to 674 against the 523 which was reported in the year 2015.

  • Nirmala Sitaraman, the finance minister of India announced that the late fee will be levied on registered entities with ‘zero’ Goods and Services Tax return filling between 2017 July to 2020 January.
  • The World Food Prize has been awarded to Rattan Lal who is an eminent Indian – American soil scientist. This award has been offered his for the enhancing and mainstreaming a soil –centric approach food production.

  • Glenmark Pharma prepared Fabiflu tablets for the covid 19 virus treatment. The cost of the tablet (one tablet) is Rs. 103. Glenmark Pharma is the first one to prepare this Favipiravir medicine for the treatment of corona virus
