1st May 2020 Current Affairs:

• 1^st May is World May Day. This significant day is celebrated all over the world.

• Lockdown ending date is extended upto 4 May. Total 733 districts in India are divided into three zones. Which are Red Zone, Orange Zone and Green Zone. India enters into a new phase of the fight against the corona pandemic.

• Maharashtra and Gujarat celebrated their statehood day today. Gujarat and Maharashtra are shaped after enactment of the Bombay Reorganisation Act 1960.

• Total Covid 19 cases in India rose to 40,263 and the death toll is at 1306.

• Hadeep Singh Puri, Civil Aviation Minister announced that Air India will run 64 flights from 7^th May to 13^th May to bring back Indians. Nearly 15,000 Indians stranded abroad amid the Corona Virus induced lockdown.
• Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Human Resources Development Minister today declared the JEE and JEE Mains to be held from 18^th to 23^rd July.
• Pulitzer Prize 2020 winners were disclosed by Dana Canedy, the Pulitzer Administrator. In this year 15 prizes were awarded in journalism and seven for arts. Three photojournalists Yasin Dar, Mukhtar Khan and Channi Anand from Jammu and Kashmir are among the 2020 Pulitzer Prize winners.

• India got the second rank in preparing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the entire world. Presently China is the 1^st ranker of PPE in the world. Presently India is producing 2.06 lakh Personal Protective Equipment kits each day.

• SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft successfully launched to reach International Space Station (ISS) from Kennedy Space Center. The spacecraft will take 2 NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley. This is the first rocket launch program performed by the Commercial space company SpaceX which was founded by Elon Musk.
• United States President Trump has postponed the G7 Summit up to September.
