Civil Services Exam will be conducted in 3 stages:
Preliminary Exam
Main Exam

Pattern of Preliminary Exam:

Examination Type: UPSC Preliminary exam is in the form of objective type question.
Marks: Preliminary exam contains 2 papers. 400 marks total (including 2 papers) each paper contains 200 marks.
Negative Marks: Wrong answer gives you negative marks.
Exam Language: In Hindi and English the question paper will be available.
Time: The duration of exam will be of two hours for one paper. There will be extra time for Disability and Cerebral Palsy candidates.
Exam Duration: Each paper contains 2 Hours. Disability and Cerebral Palsy applicants will be given extra time.
Eligibility Next Round:
Depending on the makes obtained in preliminary exams you will be selected for main exam.

Civil Services Main Exam Type:
»» Main Exam contains two papers. In these one is qualifying and another one is counted for merit in the examination.
Scheme of Marks: Mains examination contains of papers qualifying in nature (600 six hundred marks) as well as papers to be counted for merit (1750 marks)
Type of exam papers type: Written exam has 9 papers of conventional essay type in the topics (subjects) out of which 2 exam papers need to be qualifying in nature.
Mains Qualifying papers contains of 2 papers: They is one any Indian language and another paper is English.

»» Through the score obtained in Main Exam candidates names will be shortlisted to attend an interview. This interview will be organized by the organization. Job selection will be depending on the performance in the interview.

»» Interview board will ask their questions on their will generally to the candidates who are short listed through the Mains Exam.
