♥♥ TRAI – has made some new amendments to the regulatory framework for cable and broadcasting services with a view to save the consumer interests. According to this amendment cable television consumers can access more number of channels at a lower subscription charges

♥♥ PM of India Modi launched the 107^th  edition of Indian Science Congress in Bengaluru.

♥♥ Indian Railways has unified its help line numbers into a single number that is 139 for fast grievance redressal and enquiry by travelers in their train journey.  

♥♥ PM Modi dedicated five Young Scientists Laboratories of Defense Research and Development Organization to the nation. DRDO Yound Scientist Laboratories – DYSL are started in 5 cities. They are Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

♥♥ Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian General, the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, was killed in a US drones airstrike attack in Baghdad International airport.

6th January 2020 Current Affairs:

♥♥ The 77^th Golden Globe Awards conducted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California at Los Angeles. The movie “1917” got the best picture award. The best actress award went to actress Renée Zellweger for the picture Judy. Best actor award adorned Joaquin Phoenix.

8th January 2020 Current Affairs:

♥♥ Cricketer Kohli became the fastest to reach 1000 runs in Twenty 20 International cricket as captain and only the 6th overall to achieve the feat. Kohli is only the 2^nd Indian cricket after Mahendrasingh Dhoni (1112 runs from 62 matches) to achieve this record. Kohli accomplished the feat in 30th innings as a captain.

♥♥ A Boeing 737 plane with 180 passengers and crew crashed after takeoff from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran. Most passengers on board the Ukraine International Airlines flight died.

♥♥ The 1,656-km pipeline will attach Guwahati in Assam to main cities in the area.
