Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha was as appointed as the Sikkim high court new chief justice on 30.03.2015
Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha was appointed as the Sikkim high court new chief justice on 30.03.2015. India’s president Pranab Mukherjee appointed him as chief justice of Sikkim high court. He was appointed to this post according to the article 217 (1) of the Indian constitution.
He takes the charge of chief justice office of Sikkim high court on the same date that he appointed. Before this selection he worked as the acting chief justice of the Sikkim high court since Oct 2014. According to the rules of article 217(1) of the Indian constitution the India’s president appoints the chief justice of HC after consulting the India’s chief justice and the state governor.
A chief justice of state will be in the office up to he gets 62 years.
